1. Masuk ke website operator yang kita pergunakan layanan Blackberry nya
Misal : www.xl.blackberry.com atau www.indosat.blackberry.com atau www.telkomsel.blackberry.com
2. Masukkan username dan password
3. Pilih account email yang akan dirubah. Click bagian edit
4. Isi : Your name dengan nama yang anda kehendaki
5. Save
6. Log out

Terkadang email kita / log call / sms hilang mendadak, padahal kita tak melakukan tindakan apa-apa terhadap handset.
Itulah yang disebut Hantu Pemakan Email, apa itu ?
Handset Blackberry me-recover memory nya secara otomatis. Ini terjadi bila memory free ( bebas ) nya terlalu menipis. Agar tak terjadi hang.
Di WM/ppc kan tak ada yah pak ?
Recover memory ini dilakukan dengan menghapus salah satu ( namun tak terbatas ) :
- email
- call log
- sms
- ym/gtalk/bbm log history
Nah, bagaimana mencegahnya :
- beli freemem™ aplikasi di pak Tjiputra
- sehari paling tidak cabut bateray 1x
- hapus email yang tak perlu
- save email yang perlu
- sesekali backup di pc
- jangan install aplikasi bila memory sudah sedikit
- install aplikasi yang diperlukan. Jangan over-kill

Asumsi anda sudah mendownload file firmware (bisa dari web site di bawah ini)

1- untuk lebih aman nya, lakukan wireless off BB anda sebelum di koneksi ke USB komputer
2- lakukan lebih dahulu instalasi firmware yang sudah anda download di komputer anda, ikuti saja petunjuk nya.
3- apabila firmware yang anda download berasal dari operator yang mengeluarkan handheld BB anda, maka anda bisa langsung ke langkah 5-
4- apabila firmware anda berbeda dengan handheld operator nya (DIWYOR - point ini sangat di sarankan untuk tidak di lakukan, karena bisa mempersulit untuk trouleshooting apabila ada masala), silahkan lakukan penghapusan file “vendor.xml” yang berada di :
c:/program files/ common files/ research in motion/ apploader/
5- langkah ini adalah untuk melakukan upgrade firmware
6- jalankan program desktop manager (DM) anda
7- colok USB yang sudah terhubung dengan komputer dengan HH BlackBerry anda
8- khusus untuk pengguna BES, mohon di perhatian PIN BlackBerry yang tersimpan di DM anda. Apabila PIN nya berbeda, DM akan menanyakan apakah anda akan melakukan “change HH ke PIN baru ?”. Kalau memang anda ingin melakukan change HH, klik YES, kalau tidak klik NO
9- apabila PIN HH anda sudah terdeteksi oleh DM, anda akan di tanyakan oleh Pop Up Menu yang memberitahukan bahwa ada firmware terbaru di komputer anda, apakah anda akan melakukan Upgrade (Yes / No)
10- apabila anda tekan YES, silahkan ikuti petunjuk selanjut nya
11- dalam proses upgrade ini, DM akan menampilkan semua opsi yang ada di firmware tersebut, salah satu nya adalah bahasa yang akan kita gunakan. Silahkan ada tick yang mana di rasa perlu dan di un-tick yang tidak perlu
12- setelah proses pemilihan opsi language dan lain nya, anda masuk ke proses terakhir di mana anda akan di tanya apakah akan melakukan backup all data dan apps sebelum upgrade atau tidak (untuk HH baru, sebaik nya tidak perlu backup sama sekali, krn mempercepat proses 
)
13- dalam proses upgrade ini, apabila anda melakukan nya via Notebook, pastikan batere NB anda full atau coloklah ke power outlet, dan matikan opsi turn off hdd when idle (sangat di sarankan). Kalapun di lakukan via Desktop, pastikan anda mempunyai UPS
14- dalam proses upgrade ini pun anda akan melihat device BB anda blank - error 507 - hour glass dan lain-lain nya, hal ini masih termasuk wajar dan tidak perlu khawatir. Pastikan saja proses nya tetap berjalan di DM (ada progress)
15- apabila DM menyatakan proses nya sudah selesai, anda bisa mencabut HH nya dari USB Cable
16- setelah semua kembali normal, jangan lupa lakukan P3BB, khusus nya point no 2 dan 3.

Tips ini berguna di kala BB kita menjadi lower gprs
- go to options
- go to mobile networks
- change network selection to manual
- search other operator
- select other operator and save
- turn off / take out your battery at least 1-2 minutes
- turn on again
- go to options
- go to mobile networks
- change network selection to automatic
Tips ini sudah saya coba di 2 operator dan berhasil.
Sekira nya tidak berhasil, mungkin ada gangguan jaringan di kawasan tersebut, silahkan kirimkan info detil berupa:
- no msisdn (no BB) nya
- lokasi detail
- tanggal kejadian dan waktu nya
- pastikan sudah melakukan P3BB

Mungkin sudah sering dengar kata² P3BB (Pertolongan Pertama Pada BlackBerry), berikut yang di maksud dengan hal tersebut :
1. Cabut batere minimal 1-2 menit
Fungsi ini sama seperti melakukan location update di handphone biasa, yang kalau di jenis tersebut bisa hanya dengan turn of / turn on lagi. Sayang nya BB harus dengan cara ini (CMIIW)
2. Registrasi HRT dari Options - Advanced Option - Host Registration Table - (pencel lagi tombol opsi) - Register Now Fungsi ini untuk memastikan HH anda terdaftar di network BlackBerry. Dengan telah terdaftar, maka tunnel dari HH anda ke infrastruktur BlackBerry sudah terbentuk. Tunnel link ini yang men-trigger capital GPRS/EDGE/3G.
3. Send Service Book (SB)
Kalau sekira nya HH anda belum mendapatkan self registration email dari BlackBerry, maka send SB hanya bisa di lakukan via pc / desktop. Namun kalau sudah berhasil mendapatkan notifilasi self registration namuan masih lower gprs/edge/3g, maka send SB bisa di lakukan dengan masuk via email setting (browser: http://operator.blackberry.com)

Why don’t I have the “UMA” signal on my WiFi BlackBerry?
* If you did a full restore from your old BB to the new 8320, or used the Switch Device Wizard in Desktop Manager to move to the 8320, you likely carried over some old settings that don’t apply on the 8320 BlackBerry. Follow these steps to fix it, AND save your old contacts, messages, etc.
1. Make a complete back-up of your old BlackBerry using Desktop Manager. Note the name of that backup file (*.ipd).
2. Remove your old BB from the USB.
3. Wipe your Curve 8320 using Options > Security > General Settings. Press the Menu button to Wipe Handheld. This will wipe ALL settings and personal data from the BlackBerry.
4. Plugin your new Curve 8320 to the USB cable. Click on Desktop Manager and Backup/Restore > Advanced Restore. Click File and Open to find the backup file you made in step #1 (*.ipd). Select those limited items you wish that pertain only to your personal data, such as: Address Book, Auto text, BB messenger, Browser bookmarks, Calendar, Memos, Messages, Password Keeper, Phone Log, Phone Speed Dial, Profiles, Profile Options, SMS Messages, and Theme Settings.
5. Resend your service books from your BIS website. How do I resend my service books?
Complete the restore, remove the BlackBerry from the USB and you will have UMA as you should.

Fungsi dari JL_cmdr ini adalah mendelete BlackberryOS anda. Setelah step ini selesai, handset anda akan tanpa OS (ada status 507 di layar).Pastikan anda sudah punya dekstop manager dan Blackberry OS terinstall di PC/Notebook sesuai handset anda. jika belum, download dahulu sesuai dengan type handset dan kalau bisa operatornya sama dengan branding handsetnya (cari disini)

2.install
3.sambungkan handset ke cable data USB ke PC/Notebook dan pastikan desktop manager tidak pada posisi on
4.run jl_cmdr nya
5.ikuti proses seperti gambar dibawah

sesudah ini akan terlihat tulisan “connecting……”
jika proses telah selesai, maka program akan kembali ke layar paling awal, dan di layar handset akan putih dan ada code 507 di layarnya.

untuk yg mengalami java language error setelah install YM versi baru bisa mengikuti cara ini. Thx untuk Agus Budy Wuysang
1. Uninstall YM nya (option-advanced option-application-yahoo messenger-delete)
2. Option>advance option>application
3. Delete application yahoo-nya
4. Trus masih diapplication klik menu n scroll cari Module
5. Di module delete yg berikut ini : Net_rim_yahoo_messenger 1.0.95 dan net_rim_bb_qm_lib 1.0.95
6. Full restart (saran sy copot batere dan pasang aja)
7. Download YM2 dr help
8. Voila , done.
